Abstract :
There have been numerous guidelines and procedures established for qualifying balancing systems over the past twenty years. Unfortunately, with the exception of procedures outlined in ISO 2953, (Balancing Machines-Description and Evaluation) and ISO 1940, (Balance Quality Requirements for rigid rotors), most machine acceptance procedures established by FHP motor manufacturers are misdirected. This results in excessive cost overruns for manufacturers and delays in equipment delivery to customers. This paper is intended to define balancing system functions and offer "common sense", economical method for determining balancing system capabilities
