Abstract :
An express SIP NAT traversal server based on our transparent media switch used in SIP VoIP deployment is implemented, which can support media stream traverse symmetric NAT. The media switch proposed in this paper can make endpoints and SIP proxy both be unware of itself so the device can be deployed with the legacy equipments which can´t support NAT traverse. With port index technique, our prototype is built with code far less than ordinary SIP proxy program, this also make our reference design running more quickly and with smaller code footprint than ordinary SIP proxy.
