Abstract :
In this article, based on the overview of radio resource management issues in heterogeneous wireless network environment, the concept of cooperative radio resource management (Co-RRM) is proposed to ensure an efficient use of available radio resources in different access networks. In order to provide comparability between different wireless networks, the operation of radio resource parameters´ mapping and normalization is educed and the query-table normalization operation method is put forward. In addition, a cross-layer adaptive approach is introduced for Co-RRM to obtain better system performance from information exchanges across protocol layers, which may not be available in the traditional layered architecture. Simulations results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
