Abstract :
This paper describes a study of measuring the user experience of children in their interaction with digital books. An eye tracking experiment was conducted with eight children to examine their eye movements as they interacted with digital books in two different web sites. Measuring the child´s user experience involved emotional ranking surveys, performance metrics, and retrospective probing by replaying videos of gaze of the child to explore the observed navigation behavior. Findings suggest effective methods for eliciting the user experience of children in the context of online digital books. Results also suggest different experiences exhibited by children in reading Arabic books in their native language based on the hosting sites´ design considerations.
