Abstract :
This paper discusses the great variety of fault types that can arise on a power system. The most important techniques of this paper is the consideration of unequal magnitudes of source EMF and with different phase angles to show their effect on fault analysis and protection of the power system. Furthermore, an algorithm developed for the calculation of simultaneous power system faults is explained. The results of its application to simple and complicated sample of power systems are reported. This paper should be of direct benefit to engineers studying the behavior of protection systems during simultaneous faults.
