Abstract
In this study, we have demonstrated the use of split-ring resonator (SRR) based super-cell structures to obtain broader μ-negative (MNG) bandwidths. For our design parameters, while the array of single SRR unitcell (with g=0.2 mm) is providing a MNG bandwidth of 1 GHz, the arrays of super-cells with two, three and four SRRs provide MNG bandwidths of 1.27 GHz (27 percent increase), 1.40 GHz (40 percent increase) and 1.42 GHz (42 percent increase), respectively.
