Abstract
Summary form only given. In the last decade several derivatives of some conducting polymers such as polypyrrole, have become special interest. Due to the poor processability of such materials the necessity to improve their macroscopic properties through structural changes on the monomer, has grown. For that purpose several ring substituted pyrroles were synthesized and polymerized into conductive materials. In particular, it has been established that the electrochemical polymerization of N-substituted pyrroles is an attractive means for the elaboration of polymer modified electrodes containing a specific redox center. In the present study electrochemical polymerization of a pyrrole containing monomer; N-(N´ propil, N´-trietylamonium) pyrrole tetrafluorborate salt, has been carried out. Electrochemical properties of the resulting polymer have been studied, through the relation between the polymer weight adhered to platinum electrodes and the amount of charge stored by polymer. The values have been compared with those obtained with polypyrrole films.
