Abstract :
Summary form only given. The electrogeneration of conducting polymers such as polypyrrole, polythiophene~, or semiconductors, has been widely studied during the last years. Most of the electropolymerization processes have been carried out from aqueous or organic solutions of the monomer and a supporting electrolyte. The study of the electrogeneration processes in absence of solvent could be very important for the elucidation of the polymerization mechanism, and to study the effect of the choice of the solvent from the point of view of the polymer properties. We present in this work the electrogeneration of polypyrrole films on platinum electrodes, from a solution of (Bu)/sub 4/NBF/sub 4/ in the monomer, in absence of solvent. The electrical response of the polymer films is similar to the shown bypolypyrrole layers electrogenerated from organic or aqueous solutions. The i-t answer to the potential step gives a i vs. (t-t/sub 0/)/sub 2/ linear relation. That means an instantaneous nucleation followed by a tridimensional growth of the nucleus.
