Abstract :
The use of technological tools in logistics has the intention of increasing visibility, capacity and control in the supply chain. Decrease of uncertainties due to asymmetric data has been the constant challenge of management. Misdiagnosis of situations and equipment, inaccurate production planning, shrinkage and counterfeiting are some of the common problems as a consequence of erroneous information. The idea of prognostic logistics is to use real time information and an intelligent system to diagnose and predict early failures and hazardous situations. The automatic capture of information in prognostic logistics has the intent to reduce human errors. Automatic identification technologies enable the creation of a prognostic logistic network where real time information is used to make accurate forecasting, pushing a proactive supply chain instead of a reactive one
