Abstract :
Operators with a growing subscriber base can face significant costs to increase capacity in urban settings to meet rising demand. Since network capacity in Beirut´s congested area is under dimensioned. Therefore, the need to increase that capacity was critical in order to keep a good quality of service and maintain customers´ satisfaction; AMR FR/HR came as a solution to provide capacity increase and to enhance speech quality. On the other hand, EDGE was launched in MTC Touch Network, in order to add a more valuable dimension to data services and to open the door for new services and real time applications. To provide real figures about these two features, some AMR and EDGE enabled cells were selected to present statistics in this paper.
