Abstract :
In this paper, the backscattered Brillouin precursors by a PEC sphere buried in lossy dispersive media are studied. The plane wave propagation in lossy dispersive media is analyzed using Fourier series expansion. The transient backscattered signal by a PEC sphere in dispersive media is derived with frequency domain series solution. The peak magnitude variation is analyzed as a function of the rise and fall time of the pulse for the backscattered Brillouin precursors in time domain.
