Abstract :
A novel high efficiency phase-shifted PWM DC-DC converter is proposed in this paper. Compared to the conventional phase-shifted full-bridge converters, it can significantly reduce the circumfluent loss and achieve zero-voltage switching over almost the full load-range. Even more, due to the improved voltage waveform at the input of the LC filter, the proposed converter requires much lower inductance to limit the inductor ripple current to a specified value. Operating principle is depicted in detail in this paper. Experimental results from a 500 W prototype converter operating at 100 kHz with isolated 48 V/10 A output are presented to validate the theoretical analysis.
