S-shaped curves , such as bass model, Logistic model and Gomperz model, have been used widely for the diffusion curve of a new product or service in the field of innovation diffusion, and however, which is better to fit the datasets of mobile subscribers or Internet subscribers in China, the answers of all the scholars are different. To compare the techniques for their estimating the parameters these models , we find that NLS(Non-Linear Least Squares ) is adopted widely , but NLS is not fitted to estimate the parameters of products in the growth phases , so we choose Genetic Algorithm rather than NLS to estimate the parameters for the diffusion of the mobile subscribers and Internet subscribers in China with different S-shaped curves ,for the two services are still in the growth phases . The results show that Bass model can get a better fitness comparing with the other two models in the diffusion of mobile subscribers, and logistic model get a better fitness in diffusion of Internet subscribers. In the end, this paper attempts to map out the diffusion patterns of the mobile subscribers and Internet subscribers in China and gets the predictions in the future.
