Abstract :
A fast wideband transmit beampattern synthesis algorithm based on frequency invariant beamformer (FIB) is proposed in this paper. In the proposed method, the spectrum of wideband MIMO radar transmit waveforms is computed by FIB, and alternating matrix fitting method is used to design unimodular sequences. The proposed method requires no matrix inversion and has much lower computation complexity compared with wideband beampattern formation via iterative techniques (WBFIT) due to the significant reduction of iteration order. The numerical results indicate that the proposed method performs similarly as WBFIT, but with only 10% of the computational cost.
