  • Abstract
    Dynamic route guidance is an important part of the intelligent transportation system (ITS), first of all the characteristic of dynamic route guidance was analyzed. For the requirement of real-time guidance, a kind of natural algorithm - Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm was introduced into dynamic route guidance. Firstly the basic principle and characteristic of Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm was analyzed, then based on this the application method of Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm in path searching of dynamic route guidance was proposed. Finally a simulation example showed that Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm has a very fast speed, high efficiency and an adequate accuracy when used in search of the shortest path of the road network and so can be used in dynamic route guidance.
