Abstract :
The paper presents the concept of the long range passive radar utilizing the FM-radio transmitters as illuminators of opportunity. The concept has been verified via the analytical analysis, simulations and real measurement campaign. The confirmed detections of the air targets at long range (up to 300 km monostatic range) has been obtained using the PaRaDe (Passive Radar Demonstrator). The PaRaDe is a deployable system operating in real time, developed at Warsaw University of Technology, Poland. The results of the long range detection of the air targets obtained using PaRaDe system, show new capabilities of the passive radar technology.
