Abstract :
This paper demonstrates the performance enhancement that the exploitation of multiple bistatic configurations can bring to a GSM based Passive Coherent Location (PCL) system. A significant improvement in target position estimation during the tracking process is demonstrated. The impact of the transmitter-target-receiver geometry is discussed and the effect of the exploitation of a priori context knowledge (e. g. clutter and land maps) on maritime traffic surveillance is shown.
