Letter from the editor

As you can see in the above photo, I attended the IEEE Panel of Editors meeting over April 19–20 in Dallas. As usual, it was a very informative meeting. Now that this publication is a magazine and included in the IEEE Xplore digital library, I found the statistics on Xplore of particular interest. For example, did you know that of all IEEE Xplore downloads in 2012, downloads from periodicals (journals and magazines, for example) and conference proceedings were almost evenly split? That means our papers presented at the upcoming 2013 IEEE International Symposium in Denver, Colorado in August will be appreciated by thousands of Xplore users in the future.
