Abstract :
A new algorithm is proposed to control a set of Siemens vacuum reclosers (http://www.reyrolle-protection.com) installed on a distribution power grid. This algorithm is a combination of Network Line Importance Calculation (NLIC) described below, taboo search for online power grid topology optimization and the classifier based on Kohonen maps for safe state identification. The power grid with Siemens reclosers is modeled within Matlab SimPower. Results of simulations show that application of the proposed scheme to global recloser control improves protection actions and minimizes consequences of faults.
