Abstract :
IC technology provides clues to the future direction and requirements of the of the power process industry. Examples of this phenomenon are presented. The very high cell densities for MOSFETS and the presence of copper metallization are two examples of technology created to help the IC industry that has had the derivative effect of extending power processing capability.
