Abstract :
Aluminum cooling cycle with material volume is the key factor in improving the efficiency of the aluminum strip processing. The flow field´s design of cooling chamber geometry model cooling cycle is discussed. The numerical model of the flow passage is built according to the geometrical model of the cooling cycle. Then the numerical simulation of flow field in flow passage was performed by using the standard k-e turbulence model when the turbulence state in cooling cycle machining has been determined. At the same time the effect of cooling cycle´s structure on the velocity of flow is analyzed according to the results of numerical simulation. Comparing the simulation results with the experimental results, it indicates that guiding the design of the cathode by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation is accurate and practicable.
