Abstract
The TanDEM-X mission, which is the first spaceborne SAR interferometer, flying in close formation, consists of two satellites. In the so called helix formation the system acquires bistatic SAR images for the generation of a global Digital Elevation Model (DEM). This paper describes the current status of the DEM acquisition and key parameters of the interferometric performance.
