Abstract
In this paper, a modern solar power plant that includes a light-reflecting metallic antenna is presented. To demonstrate the design idea, an E-shaped patch array is designed on a V-shaped ground plane which reflects light to the solar cells. A larger output voltage can be obtained from the solar cells because of the light focusing effect of the reflecting antenna and ground plane. The reflection coefficient, input impedance, antenna gain, and radiation patterns of the structure are studied.
