Abstract

Increasing life expectancy accompanied with decreasing dependency ratio in developed countries calls for new solutions to support independent living of the elderly. IST Vivago® is a novel intelligent social alarm system also providing continuous remote monitoring of the user´s activity level. The system is based on wireless sensing technology, telecommunications, and intelligent signal processing. In this paper we describe the system and provide application examples of the system.
