Abstract
In this paper, a novel design for circularly polarized UWB DRA antenna is presented. The proposed antenna consists of half circular cylindrical DRA mounted on a finite ground plane. The calculated bandwidth of the proposed DRA antenna is about 90% ranges from 4 GHz to 10.5 GHz for reflection coefficient Sll less than -lOdB. Also, it has a relatively stable radiation patterns over its whole frequency band of interest. The proposed antenna has an axial ratio bandwidth of 27% starts from 5.3 GHz to 7 GHz for the axial ratio less than 3dB. Compared to the conventional patch reference antenna; the proposed DRA antenna has enhanced impedance bandwidth, axial ratio bandwidth, gain, and total efficiency.
