Abstract :
Inspired by recent multiband Passive Bistatic Radar (PBR) high range resolution achievements, an airliner´s and a propeller aircraft´s bistatic range profiles were analyzed in greater detail. The two targets were shown to behave sufficiently different in the signal processing to be categorized correctly as two targets of different type. The airliner´s main scatterer was accompanied by other weaker frequency dependent scatterers already present in the single channels range-Doppler plots. However, by applying multiband PBR signal processing, finer details of the scatterers were revealed.
