Abstract :
Embedded system is pervasive in software engineering and building a correct and stable model of a hardware module is important for developing embedded software. In this paper, we present an approach to build component-base models for simulating the MMU, which includes loading instructions, reading data and writing data. The component-based models raise the abstraction of the MMU architecture and principles. Interfaces for each model are defined to simulate MMU when the CPU fetches instructions and accesses data. The case study has demonstrated that the component-based models can be successfully applied to simulate the MMU.
