Abstract
In the spin scan seekers that are the first generation of the infrared guided missiles, the scene is modulated with the help of the reticle. Target tracking is done by processing the obtained signal in the seeker processor. The seeker processor which is presented in the literature consists of two filters and one envelope detector. In this paper, target tracking is done by using only one matched filter with an alternative approach. In this context, modulated signal models of the rising sun reticle are developed for targets at different ranges and the performance of the proposed matched filter is investigated with the simulations.
