Abstract :
This paper researches channel coding for satellite communications. Fountain codes and Non-binary LDPC codes are introduced, including their encoding and decoding algorithm. Taking advantage of similar characteristic of sparse graph codes, concatenation of fountain codes and Non-binary LDPC codes is proposed. Simulation result shows good performance of the concatenated codes. This work gives us some inspirations for deep space applications.
