Abstract :
One cycle control technology is a novel non-linear control technology without multiplier. It has the function of modulation and control at the same time. A new general PWM modulator for single-phase power factor correction with one cycle control is proposed in this paper. On the basis of analyzing one cycle controlled traditional single-phase Boost power factor correction, this paper proposes an improved method to realize single-phase power factor correction in continuous conduction mode by adding a resistance compensating network and an accumulator to the traditional circuitry, its main circuit inductance is revised for the center-tapped inductance. Other basic parameters are as same as the traditional single-phase corrector. Thus the inductance current ripple distortion is eliminated. And the reliability of proposed corrector is also enhanced. Experimental results demonstrate that the improved corrector can greatly enhance the system´s power factor. Its power factor can reach 0.993.
