Abstract
In this paper, a solar assisted ground-source heat pump system is proposed to provide thermal comfort for buildings. In order to improve the efficiency of the designed solar assisted ground-source heat pump system, a control strategy based on the evaluation of building thermal load demand is proposed. The system operates in different modes to adapt to outdoor and indoor environmental changes. In every control step, this control approach evaluates the real-time thermal load demand and makes decision on the operation strategy for next time step accordingly. A simulation study of the system operation for building heating is carried out to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed system.
