Abstract
Nowadays the WSN protocol stack based on ZigBee, such as Z-Stack, has a good performance in many respects. Yet there also exists some problems in ZigBee when applied in simple data acquisition applications with limited resources. This paper designs a more suitable WSN protocol stack named Em-Stack, which is compatible with IEEE 802.15.4. Based on the chip CC2430, Em-Stack adopts several key technologies to realize the target of simplicity and low power, including self adaptation,store/forward mechanism and so on. The test results demonstrate Em-Stack works smoothly in data acquisition applications and consumes less power than Z-Stack.
