Abstract :
A novel planar monopole antenna with an inverted-U-shaped element and a meander low-frequency path is developed and proposed. By adjusting the size of inner ground strip and the gap between inverted-U element and the outer ground strip, the high-frequency band can be applied in DCS1800, PCS 1900, UMTS2000, and WLAN systems. The meander line, outer ground strip, and extended stub are used for increasing the low-frequency path, which reaches the GSM frequency band. The proposed antenna also has the advantages of low profile, low cost, and ease fabrication.
