Abstract :
This paper presents a current driven wideband low-noise passive mixer in CMOS 0.18-μm technology that operates between 2-6 GHz. The subharmonic mixer used here is the modification of Gilbert cell configuration by adding another local-oscillator stage. In order to convert input voltage supply into current broadband low-noise transconductor is employed using the noise-cancelling technique. After the signal gets down-converted by mixer, the signal is converted back into voltage signal by trans-impedance amplifier. The proposed mixer succeeds in achieving Noise Figure of 10.1 dB, wideband matching and considerable gain of 12.4 dB.
