Abstract :
A compact coupling-type antenna for the WLAN/WiMAX dual-network operation in the laptop computer has been proposed. The constructed prototype capable of generating a wide operating band of about 3.5 GHz in bandwidth with a compact size of 17.5 x 7.8 x 5 mm has been fabricated and tested. Good radiation characteristics for frequencies across the operating bands have been obtained. The proposed antenna is promising for the WLAN/WiMAX dual-network applications.
