Abstract
Network typically requires the buffer status reports from User Equipments (UE) for scheduling of uplink resources. Multiple studies have established that the efficiency of scheduler will increase with the accuracy of the buffer status reports. Generally, there is a delay between the time when UE calculates the buffer status reports for sending to network and the time when UE receives the resources based on its buffer status report. In this paper, we propose a method for a UE to report more accurate buffer status reports considering this delay in 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE).
