Abstract
The application described in this paper implements a monitoring service using mobile devices based on a multiagent system. Mobile devices provide information to an intelligent alarm system in charge of sending information in real-time to the people involved in the monitoring process. A set of agents installed on the mobile device collect data from sensors and send it to the alarm provider and other agents, after to verify and format the information. Alarms are activated by rules based on sensors measurement and restrictions defined, sending information to supervisor and to supervised users. In addition, supervisor can obtain information about all the people that are being supervised, while monitored users only can obtain monitoring information about themselves. The system can be applied to any monitoring process based on supervisory activities.
