  • Abstract
In recent years, there has been a great effort to increase the efficiency of Radio Frequency Power Amplifiers. This can be achieved by using techniques such as Envelope Tracking and Envelope Elimination and Restoration. These techniques require DC/DC converters capable of changing its output voltage very fast, in order to reproduce the envelope of the signal being amplified by the Radio Frequency Power Amplifiers. However, the bandwidth of these signals is much higher than the bandwidth achieved by these converters. This paper proposes a method to exploit some characteristics of the envelopes of communication signals in order to generate a signal that approximates, with a lower bandwidth, the envelope of a communication signal and for this reason can be reproduced by a DC/DC converter.
