Abstract :
This paper introduces a simple and fast method of time domain simulation for switching converters. Different discrete time modeling like Forward, Backward and Trapezoid rules are used. It is shown that the discrete time equations can be derived using dual or oversampling techniques. The methods can be implemented using any computer language programs or mathematical tools. These methods are particularly useful for IC controller designers, application engineers and the end-users. Simulation results are shown for a synchronous and a dual phase buck converter. It is shown that the proposed method can successfully model a switching converter in the time domain.
