Abstract
The issue of providing quality of service (QoS) in WDM optical burst switching (OBS) networks is attracting increasing attention in the networking community. Most existing works focus on how to provide differentiated QoS in DBS networks. However, little has been done to address how to achieve max-min fairness in OBS networks to protect well behaving connections from misbehaving connections. We propose a max-min fair bandwidth allocation scheme to support service protection and isolation in OBS networks. Simulation results show its ability to achieve max-min fairness with good isolation among connections.
