Abstract :
This paper presents a DC chopper based photovoltaic simulator which emulates the output characteristics of photovoltaic modules. The experimental results show that the output characteristics of the simulator are very close to those of the actual photovoltaic modules, and the simulator also has a good dynamic response. Consequently, it can be used in replacement of actual photovoltaic modules to provide a controllable environment for R&D of photovoltaic inverters and control systems.
