Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a disaster-resilient image and video transmission system based on specially designed Movable and Deployable Resource Units, which we refer to as MDRUs. Each MDRU has the ability to establish communication and information processing functions after being rapidly transported or moved to the disaster area; it can be deployed within an acceptably short time to establish network and ICT services in the disaster area. The proposed resilient data transmission system offers image and video application data appropriately to people in the disaster areas through MDRUs. The application data are transmitted based on the MDRUs power supply and network bandwidth. Experimental results and demonstration show the effectiveness of the proposed disaster-resilient image and video transmission.
