Abstract :
In the future the synchronous digital hierarchy as multiplexing technique between cross-connect or switches is expected to replace the current plesiochronous digital hierarchy in the networks. Satellite systems providing trunking services and interfaces with public networks shall become compatible with SDH interfaces. Also management, error performance monitoring, pointer processing, defined for SDH, shall be applied in satellite systems
