Abstract :
To alleviate the traffic imbalance between supply and demand for over-saturated complex intersections, based on disconnected traffic flow characteristics between urban roads, this article aims at the focus of conflict between supply and demand - supersaturated vehicle columns in sections connecting to crossroads, analyzing complex intersections traffic capacity impairment mechanism arising out of "backflow", summing up fluctuation pattern for complex intersections travel delay caused by the above traffic capacity impairment, so as to point out a specified direction for traffic control approaches in respect to the intersection.
