Abstract :
Many new application areas for MMICs are appearing at higher millimeter wave frequencies, which require high volume, low cost MMIC designs. In these cases, it is essential to optimize the whole of system, including all the electromagnetic effects that can compromise the design. Ansoft have teamed with UMS to develop a next generation design kit for MMIC design. The poster presentation illustrates how this design kit has been used to optimize a 77 GHz LNA for automotive applications including the advantages of utilizing the design kit for co-design of the active and passive elements of circuit and system, as well as how the tools can easily be used to compute and compare design trade offs
