Abstract :
This paper discusses the effect of spectrum sharing between DS-CDMA channels and conventional narrowband channels. Analyses have been performed with the view to increasing the overall spectral efficiency in the frequency band, taking into account various factors such as the proportion of overlapping, the relative location of overlapping and filtering. Spectral sharing between DS-CDMA systems is also discussed. Optimum overlapping positions for spectral efficiency are suggested. Finally, possible applications of the results to satellite communications systems are discussed
