Abstract :
The paper presents a simplified proof for the impossibility of using Korotkov´s auscultatory method (KAM) as a standardized measurement system (SMS) for blood pressure (BP). Further, the authors found no scientific, technical, or practical grounds for holding KAM as a ´gold standard´ even in traditional medicine. The paper concludes on the imperative need for developing a SMS for BP assessment according to science and engineering principles.
