Abstract
Reliability of any on-board ATM switch depends on providing redundant paths within the switch. This paper reports on simulated fault injection in a multistage ATM switch based on the augmented shuffle exchange network. Results indicate that an acceptable fault tolerance and performance can be achieved with reasonable buffer sizes at each switching node
