Abstract

This paper proposes a novel approach for acquiring ontology concepts in Tibetan based on HowNet and dictionaries. Central to this approach is realizing the mapping between Tibetan words and the ontology concepts in HowNet through the information of Chinese-Tibetan, Tibetan-English dictionaries. The method introduced in the article aims to establish an ontology and to achieve Tibetan semantic ontology concepts on the level of concept classification based on HowNet concept similarity calculation. Using the proposed method, we achieve good performance on semantic ontology concepts acquisition automatically.
