Abstract :
To save life, casualty care requires that trauma injuries are accurately and expeditiously assessed in the field. Thus, it is important that victims will be rapidly stabilized and vital signs continuously monitored to detect potential life threatening conditions that may require critical life saving measures. This paper describes the initial bench testing of a wearable wireless pulse oximeter system, which includes a forehead mounted optical sensor, and compares its performance with that of a Masimo SET pulse oximeter.
